Self-Portraits of the Apocalypse: Shelter-in-Place

Self-Portraits of the Apocalypse is a 100 day pandemic-adventure-in-place in the form of a cartoon art and design book. What began as a drawing-a-day crutch to get me through the beginning of shelter-in-place orders turned into a marathon of art and writing about coping mechanisms, happy moments, and shared struggles. When I began this project, no one knew how long the mandated shelter order would stay in effect or how long it would affect them personally. We learned as we went, each from our own perspective and starting point. As for me, I was fighting depression, anxiety, and more already. I was determined to not lose any ground already gained in those battles, so I fought back with art and writing about mental health, current events, literal near drowning, my apocalypse wardrobe, and hope.
